Hello and welcome!
I figured I’d start these blog posts with a simple hello. More or less, I will try my best to update this blog with any news, stories, poems and random ramblings. But more on that later! Allow me to introduce myself personally: My name is Rebecca and I am a Canadian author. My stories tend to be Gothic Fiction while my poetry tends to be on the Spiritual side (great combination, I know!).
I have a TON of interests – from historical to mythical to pretty much everything else in-between. I mean, honestly, we as human beings aren’t two-dimensional, and personally, I like to embrace all that I am—so please expect some random posts from time to time.
To close out this post, I’ll just run a list of fun facts about me:
- I am 7th generation on my family’s homestead, located on the lands of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishsinaabeg Nation, which includes Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi, and covered under the Williams Treaties.
- I graduated in 2015 with a diploma in Graphic Design.
- I’ve been writing poetry since I was in grade 5, and writing stories since was in grade 3.
- On the other side, I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil!
- I practise archery, axe throwing, cooking and traditional healing in my spare time.
- I am a history geek at heart, and love learning different things about the past.
- I love the snow! Winter is my favourite season – it’s a great time to relax, rejuvenate, but to also to snowshoe, ski and snowmobile!
